The Original Hinge

Here's how the original Miyoo Flip hinge worked:

• Three-stage opening mechanism with firm resistance at each stage, requiring a noticeable amount of force to move between positions.
• Audible click at each stage — the hinge produced a distinct sound each time it locked into one of the three positions.
• Stiffer overall feel — the tighter resistance was a defining characteristic of the original design during everyday use.
• Shell stress over time — as with any hinge mechanism, prolonged use can place mechanical pressure on the surrounding shell. With the original design, this occasionally led to cracking in the shell area, which in some cases affected hinge performance.
